[NexonIsOnline]All Nexon Games and Webpages offline and Poptag is closing!
The update has been finished for a few hours now, and most of the updates may seem well and put together, but when you go to use them they begin to not work. Many functions you try to do result in a
500 Internal Server Error
nginx/0.8.54
Now, one of the main reasons for this update must be to make the Nexon America Webpages much easier for casual gamers, but even after 15 or more hours of maintenance there still seems to be issues with this update that could get in the way of many players.
I hope they release a little announcement on this, just not more downtime..
It is 5:54 pm est and the Nexon portal and Games seem to be online, The Earning Free NX Section still seems to be on its way to be fixed, but it may just be a little error. Everything seems quite nice. The new portal does look better than the previous one. yey.

There will be a big maintenance that will have all Nexon.net games, forums, etc offline for 12 hours. Here are the full details:
Dear Players:
Nexon will be performing a maintenance to implement the new portal on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 10 PM Pacific for approximately twelve hours. During this time, the following will be unavailable:
* All game servers
* All game, website and forum login
* All Nexon websites
* Nexon account registration
* All billing functions (including charging and spending NX and redeeming Nexon Game Cards)Please note that all games will come down and all game Start buttons will become disabled and will display the following message once the maintenance has started:
“We’re implementing our new portal! Check the websites for updates.
Once the maintenance has been completed, you will be able to access all of these functions as usual.

Yeah, They always seem to mess up the Eastern time, but we know. There was a scheduled maintenance last night, but there were some complication so that was not able to be posted, my apologies.
Some prolonged news that we have been unable to post for you guys due to some other complications: Poptag will be closing on July 14th. Open beta for Poptag began on 1/26/10 and now 1 year 5 months and 14 days later they will be officially closing North American service of Poptag. Here is the official announcement from the Poptag webpage:

It is with a heavy heart that the PopTag! team must announce that we will be closing the service effective Thursday, July 14, 2011. This was a difficult decision based on multiple factors including the ability to deliver new content regularly due to the limited resources we had available for the game. Based on these criteria, we felt that we could no longer deliver a satisfactory experience to our players.
Nexon America is truly grateful to our wonderful community of PopTag! players. Thank you all for your support.
There are many more Nexon games to check out, and we sincerely hope you all continue to be part of our family.
Please note that the PopTag! service will continue until July 14 with the following changes:
· Effective immediately NX items will no longer be available. However, the following NX game items will be available for in-game Lucci.
· Any PopTag! items purchased for NX currently in the possession of PopTag! players will be refunded. More details will be available on July 14.

The maintenance will end at 7:30 PM Pacific (10:30 PM Eastern). During this time, we will address the following:

* Disconnection Issue

We are currently investigating 4596 accounts in regard to the Hoblin King PQ flaw. We will take action after our investigation is complete.

Thanks to Hime. It is quite interesting how they released the number of accounts they will be investigating. What will they do?
The cause of this unscheduled maintenance seems to be a glitch/exploit. A user by the name of lhackNexon on http://w8baby.com released instructions on how to exploit a glitch in the Hob PQ earlier today. The glitch allows you to gain massive amounts of exp in about 20 seconds.The thread has gotten 8,152 views since it has been posted on the popular hacking forums.
No news on what Nexon will do trying to fix it, no news on when the game servers will be back online.

ArikuMS Second v.90+ Private Server!
ArikuMS has been a v.83 Maple Story Private Server, and has had banners saying “v95 testing on weekends only!” for quite some time. They have finality opened their doors as a v.95 Maple Story Private Server. On, June 11, 2011, ArikuMS had wipes and began Beta Testing of their v.95 server. ArikuMS is currently rank 43 on http://gtop100.com/maplestory. Usually, many servers like this would be a “troll” or “joke”, but not ArikuMS. ArikuMS seems to be very legit and is the real deal.
ArikuMS may seem like the first v.90+ Private Server, but they are not. ApexMS, which was shutdown back in January by Nexon(http://maple-news.com/2011/01/22/apexms-shutdown/), was the first Public v.90+ GMS Server. ApexMS was closed within a month of being unveiled to the public, and When contacting the owner of the now defunct ApexMS (The first v90+ server), RaptorJesus said “They’re only 6 months behind me and Simon, but more power to them for developing the server and defying Nexon.” ArikuMS is the second GMS server to have Big Bang up and running. There are several MapleSEA Private Servers with Big Bang, but GMS is much more attracting to most of the Private Server Community.
It was been about two days since the unveiling of ArikuMS v.95 Beta Testing, and for now it doesn’t seem like any action is being taken. We will monitor the server and bring you an update as soon as we get one.

Breaking News: Rats in Maple Story Private Server Dev!
Hey Guys, ICY here! It’s been forever hasn’t it? 
In recent news on MS PS Dev, we have seen many big server be shut down after a long time, such as NidoMS, RydahMS, and many more. The lawsuits, and all the DMCAs. Among all of this there seems to be a “rat” in between this mess. It seems that someone, or people have been relaying information to NxNA. No one, can be sure who the “rat”, or if their or more than one may be, but he or she may be responsible for all the recent rapid shutdowns. I have received much information on people having a grudge against others in the MS PS Dev world, and from there giving some server information to Nexon. It may not just be because of a grudge, but something else, but we cannot be certain. The “rat” has been hopping from server to server getting into the staff, and relaying information to Nexon which can lead to the shutdown of the server. There have been many issues in MS PS Dev before, and from all of these events we can conclude that in the MS PS Dev world 1. One cannot trust another, and 2. there will always be someone that turns on you!
These words may seem harsh, but they seem to be very much true.
Recently on RageZone there has been a thread that has been stating that many of the well known Server Owners them selves could be “rats”, but we can never be sure.
