What: Free Cash Item Give-Away

When: June 22nd – 1st Big Bang Patch

To collect your daily item simply go into your Cash Shop and accept the item (NOTE, you can only get the item on ONE of your characters, so choose which character you want the item on wisely!)

So it seems a nice event, especially the free Incubicator! I’m unsure about the ‘Guerilla Gift Giveaway’ but will update this post when the day comes!

The second event is an event we have had previously and it is awesome! It is the GOLDEN RICHIE EVENT! The event which requires you to have 80 letters, 20 N, 20 E, 20 W and 20 S. It’s a nice event where you can kill gold pigs and get exp egg’s and item eggs!

They have a variety of cool things going on. Check them out below!

Hello, Adventurers!

In a game as big as Dragon Nest, the best advice for conquering evil is simple – don’t go alone! To encourage that, the Dragon Nest team would like you to create your own “Beta Legion.” Simply get together with your friends and form an alliance to fight off your enemies. When you do, you’ll reap the kind of rewards that your brave band of adventurers deserves!

To participate:

• Form a group of two to four players and start clearing dungeons together.*

- Clear one dungeon and every member of the party will receive a 5% EXPbonus thereafter for the length of the Closed Beta.
- Clear your second and third dungeons for another 5% EXP bonus each time, up to a total of 15%!
- Additionally, if any member of your party is also on your Friends list, you get another 5% boost for a possible total of 20% EXP bonus through the end of the Closed Beta!

Welcome to the world of Dragon Nest!

-The Dragon Nest Team-

*The bonus will stay as long as you keep the requirements of staying in the same party or having your friend on the party.

This is a great way to encourage more social interaction!

Go Coco This November!

Show your support for Team Coco as they return to TV this November! Which color of Coco will you pick? Beginning on November 3rd, the Coco hairstyle will be available only by using EXP hairstyle coupons in New Leaf City or Henesys.

Wait what? Team Coco? Where does this sound familiar?

Conan returns Monday on TBS after being forced to leave NBC’s the Tonight Show in January.

Clearly these events are too similar in name (and hairstyle) to not be related. Does this mean more events based on current events and popular culture or is Nexon just running out of ideas?

School, MapleStory, and You

It’s back to school time (ugh, don’t even remind me) and kids aren’t the only one’s who suffer. After a hot summer of overloaded servers ready to burst ends a cool breeze carries everyone away making the last two months feel like a dream. Almost instantly MapleStory becomes a near ghost town in many servers as kids rush back to school and adults focus more on work. A lot of the friends you made this summer you may see now and again but most may not log on until next summer. ‘Tis the curse of online games.

In addition to the drop in players a drop in revenue is to be expected. Summer is the biggest time of the year for Nexon (with Christmas and New Years coming in second). What do you get when you combine millions of kids out of school with nothing to do for 2 months, a free MMORPG that is very interactive, and cool items you can purchase by coughing up a little dough you may have saved? Big bucks. There’s no doubt that Nexon probably makes most of their money during the summer and that they must be prepared to deal with the drastic drop in players once September rolls around. Nexon has proven with MapleGlobal and their other versions that they can still maintain a large active player base during the school year and do quite well financially. So, other than the game feeling at a ghost town at times what can you, the player, expect this year in MapleStory?

Well, your guess is as good as ours. The Visitors event is coming to an end and I’m sure Nexon has a bunch of events lined up to keep everyone entertained until they can release another class and of course the long awaited Big Bang Update which could drop as soon as January 2011. We want to know how you still have fun in MapleStory after the sun goes down and the beaches get cold? How do you find time to play your favorite game (MapleStory, we’re assuming)? Do you set up a schedule? Do you play more casually during the school year?

KMST: Big Bang Preview

(If you have any additional information that we overlooked in this post, then please notify us by commenting below or emailing us at maplenewsnetwork@gmail.com.)

There comes a time when the forces of good and evil battle to control something or somewhere (lol vagueness). The time has come in KMS to see who will win: the Black Mage or the players.

KMS has released a trailer about this “epic” event on Youtube: Big Bang

KMS has also made a little comic showing the events of this Big Bang.

However, it seems like this DOES relate to the recent Tespia from KMS (KMST).

This “Big Bang” event shows that the Black Mage use his powers to increase the strength of all monsters.

And in the process, KMS will be releasing at least THREE other classes, to combat theses deadly forces… all under a two-month rollout.

This is the Big Bang event roll out schedule:

July 8 – Event begins

July 22 – Resistance classes (Wild Hunter and Battle Mage) will be released.

August 12 – the new Mechanic job will be released.

So, what do yo think about this BIG event? Have you any theories about this big event? Then comment, comment, comment!
