MMORPG.com recently did a video interview with three developers of MapleGlobal.. Check out the interview below.

This is definitely a first for players who have never actually seen a MapleStory developer. Nexon America is definitely stepping up their public relations.

Remember the guy who coded PacMan into his private server and created the TitanMS source? kooolk is at it again with a groundbreaking software he developed, the MapleStory Map Editor, which he unveiled on YouTube on July 30th. In addition to clearing up all those rumors about him getting arrested and thrown in jail, kooolk gives us a taste of his MapleStory Map Editor which makes creating maps a cinch.

I COMPLETELY stopped with private servers developing. I don’t develop or support private servers anymore.
I MADE THIS TOOL FOR FUN AND CHALLENGE ONLY.
This tool ISN’T going to be released. (neither things created by it)
I tested it with my unchanged old v60 source.

I was bored, so I found what to do in the past two weeks.
In this video you can see only part of the features of this tool. (There are many features that I didn’t use because I just wanted to create a fast example)
The creation of the map speed up by 4x. (Took me 16 minutes in total to create the map)
Coded in two weeks from ZERO.

oh, and btw, I wasn’t in jail. (I don’t know where you got this idea from)

Although he stated he would not release it, several sources are telling us that someone has cloned and released it to the public. kooolk’s map editor has the potential to revolutionize MapleStory map creation in private server and perhaps even official development.

In the latest patch update in KMS (1.2.75) Nexon added a new Jump Party Quest because our lack of ‘koreaness’ we still don’t know if its a Jump Quest or a PQ. From the video you see the object of this quest is obtain a certain amount of keys without dying there will be severall obstacles but in the end you are rewarded with a very nice boss inspired overall and hat.

A new class coming to KMS (Korean MapleStory) on July 9th, 2009. Rumored to be an ice-based job and related to the warrior class, but different all the same.

With the latest KMS website maintenance, the Aran Trailer was released on their website. The trailer is similar to the Knights of Cygnus’ one, and it will show you some of the upcoming content.

First of all, you will see some new NPCs. Those are from Lienne (or Rien), the new upcoming area where you’ll be able to advance as an Aran. Then, you’ll see some of the Aran’s Skills in the video, and a wolf near a character with white hair at the end. They put a white-haired character in the video probably because the Aran job is an ice-based job (and so will be the town); the wolf, instead, is the level 200 Aran mount. There are more mounts for the Aran job:

Also, at around 00:12 you will see a character stuck in the ice, screaming. That’s the Black Magician’s seal which sealed the Aran people in the ice for hundreds of years. The Aran people were a group of warriors who tried to defeat the evil force of the Black Magician long time ago, so the Black Magician sealed them in the ice. Now that they’re finally free, they’re back, to help with the fight against the Black Magician. I don’t know ALL the story, but that should be a good “piece” of it.
You can see their pld fight against the Black Magician at 00:05.
At around 00:25 you can see a short fight of an Aran character against some monsters. Those are modified versions of the Leafre monsters. Same HP and everything, they just are different. They look like.. more evil. Probably under the influence of the Black Magician’s evil power, or something like that.

Most importantly, the trailer shows at the end that the Aran class is coming out on the official KMS servers on July 7th.
