Map Crashing Outbreak and Gamekiller Down!
It seems that this Map Crashing has finally gotten to Nexon, and they have released a little notice that says :
Dear Maplers,
Many of you have been experiencing issues with being disconnected yesterday and today, most notably while in the Free Market. We are aware of this issue, and our developers are working to resolve it.
Thank you for your patience.
– The Maple Team –
They will have something done eventually, the game is not offline, so I am guessing there are GMs online, but yeah. Let’s see what happens next in this Pre-Chaos Chaos.
Earlier this morning, 6/13/11, a user by the name of DOTcurrency on popular hacking site, http://w8baby.com, released a way to Crash maps. He released a packet that when sent disconnects all other users on the map. This hack does not allow items to be duped, but I am sure there most likely is a VIP hack for it. The release thread on the forum boards has about 58 replies and 1,547 views. It seems that this has been around for a few versions, but never released officially to the public like this.
There are many reports of FMs all across the Maple World in GMS being disconnected and emptied. This gives the hackers time to set up their own shops, and hurt others trying to make a good maple living. Not only FM maps, but also training maps, and many other maps throughout the game. We do not seem to have any reports from EMS or MSEA, but we will get you updated as soon as possible.
It seems that w8baby.com has been the link to many of the recent duping issues that have been going on in not only GMS, but in EMS and MapleSEA. Gamekiller.net, another popular hacking site, is offline. You get this error when you attempt to access the site:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘/’ in /home/gamekill/public_html/includes/init.php on line 687
It seems someone may have messed something up, and the webpage is offline.
Here is a video of the Map Crashing, as I stated above it has been around for quite some time now, but not totally public. Maybe that is why it hasn’t been patched, because of not enough people using it.

New and Upcoming Content in Foreign Versions: October
October was very small, but can November and December make up for it?
Big Bang: Upcoming
JapanMS
Japan MapleStory has been lagging slightly behind other old services of the game recently and they are still lacking Ice Gorge and the Chaos Bosses. This will change in 27 days though, because Japan MapleStory will the the first version outside of Korea to receive the highly anticipated Big Bang updates. The first update will take place on November 24, 2010. Read more here.

ChinaMS
So GlobalMS and ChinaMS will both be getting Big Bang this December! Shanda, the publishers of MapleStory in China, announced that Big Bang will meet China MapleStory’s 70 million players (of 95 million worldwide) this December. It will take place in three updates, with players being forced to redownload the game after the first update. The update preview can be viewed here.
Recent Updates
It has been an extremely small month for updates to MapleStory around the world. Of the versions that actually had updates this month, one had a big update.
EuropeMS 0.65
The biggest update of the month went to EuropeMS in the update to 0.65 on Wednesday, October 13. This update included Time Temple, Pink Bean, Dual Raid (Ghost Ship in the Mist) and Kerning Square. Interestingly, EuropeMS received the Ghost Ship in the Mist before GlobalMS (GlobalMS got it on Wednesday, October 20). View the patch notes here.

JapanMS 1.89
JapanMS 1.89 took place on Wednesday, October 20. This update added Halloween events including the Uninvited Guest Party Quest. This update was small with no permanent content being added. Wouldn’t this have been the perfect time to add Ice Gorge and the Chaos Bosses, Nexon Japan? Event notice is here.

MapleSEA 0.96
MapleSEA got their 0.96 update on Wednesday, October 6. Like JapanMS’s October update, no permanent content was added. The update included Haunted House II, Cassandra’s Trick or Treat event, Mal Volence Party Quest and Dual Blade Pre-events. Update notes have been posted here.

Upcoming Updates
ThaiMS 0.87
ThailandMS will update to 0.87 on Wednesday, November 3. This update includes the Ice Gorge and the Chaos Bosses (both of which JapanMS don’t have). ThailandMS’s recent updates have been really big. It looks like a Big Bang announcement for ThaiMS is coming up. Read the patch notes (in Thai) here.

MapleSEA 0.97
Finally, Dual Blade is heading to MapleSEA on Wednesday, November 10. Who knows when MapleSEA will get Big Bang. I’d say either March or May/June.

The Korean Game Market have lead the way in new online business models for MMOs across the world. U.S. Game companies also are expanding over seas with the release of Fifa Online 2 in Korea. It has gained a lot of popularity especially with the World Cup, which recently ended. This helped draw attention and set the stage for many event ideas. World of Warcraft is also gaining big popularity in the Korean Region as well. Many Gaming Companies all over the world are expanding not only in their own regions, but out side their markets. It has been a success for many, and some not the best. 80% of PC usage comes from Korea only, and it’s growing with even more U.S. companies expanding there.

Another Meso Exploit?
A new meso exploit as come to surface recently, and it may be even worse than the last one.
This hack takes place in leafre where the etc. item “Griffey’s Horn” is found. This is the most valuable etc. item so far. What this packet hack, it duplicates the item by 4,800 and puts it into your inventory. this is done every 15 minutes, as it takes that long to duplicate, and can make you 120m every hour. There is one thing that many found out about it. Instead of making another meso virus move, Nexon decided to put an IP ban on anyone who uses whit packet editing software. At least it’s better than the hellbans people recived earlier this month. Tonight, there will be a server maintenence before the v88 DualBlade Patch to fix it. Let’s hope not another one arises after its release. Only time will tell…
