RydahMS has been forced to Shut Down!!!
Today, we have learned that RydahMS, one of the biggest Maple Story Private Servers has been Shut Down! They left this on their website. RydahMs was a GMS v75 Private Server. It was pretty successful, and now it seems the end has come.
Unfortunately, we are being forced to shut down by Nexon Corporation.
All servers will shut down within 24 hours.

Rydah has been online for a long time, and many people have argued why Nexon hasn’t shut them down yet, and now it seems they have been forced by Nexon to be shut down. Another one bites the dust!

Maybe for you…For me, I used to be able to play with little to no lag at all. After Big Bang, it’s like having fraps on at all times. I can’t play like that.
dude, i got from lvl 1 – lvl about 90 in about 1 week after the big bang, and if u lag, buy a better fking computer and get better connection

Yes, the lag is excruciating. I, myself, have a little less than mediocre Internet Connection, and I don’t experience lag all the time. I may experience it at peak playing hours for the overall community, maybe 5pm- 10pm est? I have a decent laptop, and that helps, but I play in El Nido, I am on the East so I shouldn’t be lagging as much, but it is still there. The lag usually tends to people with their connections. It is not Nexons fault. They have did what they can to the servers, and if your in a Highly Populated server such as, Scania, Bera, Windia, I suggest you move to another world. They will surely give you lag.
All in all, the lag is usually the players fault, but not all the time. The servers can cause it, and the mass of players as well. It has infact gotten easier. I usually do not play all day on the weekdays, and I have been able to get to level 84 in a matter of 12 days.

I think you misunderstood me. The type of lag I experience is not connection lag, it’s frame rate lag.
As far as it not being Nexon’s fault, I disagree. Before the Big Bang, I could play virtually lag free, with a few issues now and then. Now I can’t find a single map that doesn’t freeze the screen for about 0.7-1.5 seconds when I used a skill.
If I could play the game lag free before, and then Nexon changed something, and now it’s a problem, I’d definitely say it’s their fault, not mine.

I have to be fairly honest. I’ve been with rydah since it came out, and it was fun back then. Just a few months ago though, Sithu (owner) decided to hire shitty sgms. They were the most biased piece of fuckers you can find. If you’re not well known or not their friend, you would be treated poorly. I quit private servers because of them, and if I ever decide to come back, I hope they won’t be there.

I mean, I knew Private servers were under seige by GMS, but Rydah has pretty much been there forever.
I’ve been with the server ever since it was new, and it was pretty damn fun. Hell, GMS was pretty damn fun during Beta Testing and its early phase with Wizet too. I remember when Orbis DIDN’T EXIST. back then the Cash Shop’s only purpose was for fashion items only. Wizet said that it wouldn’t affect gameplay at all. But look at the game now, 2x exp tickets, 2x item drop, and many other boosts. Hell, there’ll probably be a damn item with the power of 9001 for over 80,000 NX later. I quit the game about a 5 months after Nexon merged with Wizet. [/rant]
Anyway, donators’ money were only supposed to be used for keeping the server up, because money requires it to be up. I know it’s illegal, but really, I’m going to side with the private servers here.

What the hell? Nexon has no right to shut it down. I remember in v55 I had 1,500+ rebirths and I was a regular GM with dragon roar. So many good times on that server.There are way too many servers. Nexon can’t shut down all of them. But I have to admit that RydahMS was one of the best out there.

When MapleStory first came out in Korea, they had budgeting issues and actually had to shut down MapleStory for some time. Then they found Nexon and Nexon bought the publishing rights for the game and that’s how MapleStory continued to exist. If it weren’t for Nexon, we’d never have even seen MapleStory in the United States of America, much less anywhere other than Korea.

Ive been playing the originalms for 3-7 years and im still at lvl64. When i played the pServer i could lvl up alot and be rebirth. I wonder how many ppl r playing globalms now. IT just sux and………………………………………………………. SCREW U NEXON!
Hey guys, I know its very hard for all of you even me. I miss playing Rydah even though I only played v62 and v75, I thought Rydah was a part of me. I can’t live without it knowing its something very important.Yes, i’m very dissapointed in Nexon as it had shut down Rydah. I know you bought MapleStroy in the first place but hey, you aren’t getting any of our maplers enjoyment, then what was the use of buying it if you don’t get maplers yeah? Yes, perhaps Rydah was illegally doing this, why? Because we enjoyed it , they try so hard and they got it. Why do you have to be so cruel?You shut it down doesn’t mean your getting more players to play GMS anymore.Rydah was the best among any others, so why not choose to ban all the rest and leave Rydah alone?
