Banned for “Misconducting”?
On July - 17 - 2009
Misconduct-improper conduct; wrong behavior.
That’s what many people got a 24 hour ban for today. Sadly, there’s a main reason why they were all banned. I was on Basil today (Yes, I like to Basil) when I saw all these posts about people getting banned. As I read them all, most of them had mentioned about being leech or giving him/herself leech.
A reason about this… was well… yeah giving leeches. Is Nexon taking leeching seriously? Who knows but just beware that getting leech could lead to a ban as we might know of.

The Maple News Network was created in July of 2007 by Savage and friends. MNN is comprised of the main site, Maple-News.com, which is the first and only MapleStory news website. Other sites such as MapleBlog and the MapleStory Fail Blog are also part of the network in addition to news and music radio stations.
Here at MNN we value unbiased news that can educate and interest the average mapler and gamer about their community and coming features. Maple News is known and respected by Nexon America and expects to expand to other Nexon games in coming months.
We strive to bring you the latest and most accurate MapleStory news and bringing together an intelligent and entertaining community.
Perhaps Nexon read our leeching post?
Regardless, good job Nexon. It’s about time leechers face consequences.

Personally, just what the hell is wrong with leeching?
It’s part of the game, almost every game has it.
Laziness and letting others train you is not on their “Don’ts” of their TOS.
It’s not a sin to “get lazy and let others do the training for you”.

*NOTE: Please don’t flame me this
I know many players will find “leeching” annoying; especially the veteran players and the players that can’t afford even weapons and armour. But really, is leeching that wrong? Yes, I know that it creates an unfair balance in the game-but when has MS ever been “balanced”?
People with more money get things like a 129 att. CLAW (not joking)/ a 200 att bow (I’ve only seen 192 att though) or use it to fund dexless assasins. In my opinion, leeching can actually some-what equalize balance for some characters, especially pirates (they’re weak in 1-2 jobs) and warriors (also difficult in 1-2 jobs) and maybe even bowmen (not sure though).
And like what many people say: leeching is a natural part of our lives in any MMORPG; go to any RPG game like Ragnarok online, World of Warcraft, Maplestory, and others, and you’ll always see some leechers (I know that this doesn’t make leeching morelegit though).
I know my post will definately annoy people (especially if they played since like 2005), but think about it: Isn’t Maplestory’s economy driven by mesos, real world money, rare items, and easy training? It shouldn’t be a bannable offense or a sin to use your financial advantage and buy leech; otherwise buying godly weapons and armour should also be bannable.
P.S. Anyone know why all the highest warrior weapon attacks are so low? The highest I’ve seen was a 152 att Dragon Faltizan whereas Bowmen can now have 200 att + bows (but I’ve only seen 192)
