CocaColaStory Receives a DMCA Notice From NEXON Korea

Today MapleStory private server CocaColaStory received a DMCA notice from NEXON Korea. Although the letter looks legitimate, the CocaColaStory staff still has doubts. You may view the post by KidFlow below.

Dear People in this community,

We have been DMCA’ed lately and ”Mr Korn” is very upset because I have hurt his feelings. This notice will be up for 24 hours until the whole network + server gets modified. The letter from nexon is completly real and its been traced over and over again. We have had a good 2 months uptime and its been fantastic to meet brand new people. Later on I will be also be phoning up nexon to confirm if this is real or not. For the time being you can discuss about this letter. Evidence will be below, I will post the complete DMCA (letter). We will be also moving host, there will be no downtime. PDF will be attached on more information about the letter I recieved (SendSpace). First, I had suspected this but I guess it’s all real.

Suspicion of this letter:
1. As you can see that the attachment of the PDF on my hotmail was named ”NEXON_C&D Letter(CocacolaMS)”.
2. It had ”Sincerly,” with no name of that.
3. There was 2 attachments + .GIF image.
4. I am not sure on this one but it said ”RE”, maybe it was the web host who forwarded this to me.
5. It had a big yellow line down one of the letters.

    Basically your saying AkaiMS fails? pffft your outta your head. AkaiMS had 200-300 online averge. Alot has been changed, stablity has changed. Runs much better than those repacks. Holding over 1k account + characters on a VPS can be a mission cuz if it was a repack it would just fail in 1 day or less. I support that server!

    This server somehow got my source and DB and used it. Nothing much except a few SQL queries, player commands and NPCs have been changed. It is essentially 99.9% my work.

    The current copy of the source they hold is from March 23, 2009. The database is March 24, 2009. The “stability”, “running better than a repack” and “changes” are nothing but my toiling for a constant 8 months of work.

    You can see this at the original AkaiMS site (once the domain is successfully transferred) or the KuroiMS one.

    Also the IP 210.101.84.12 is nexon.co.kr on WHOIS.

    To be honest AkaiMS did suck, Cokestory is kinda ahead from it. Cokestory seemed to change the stable. Very less downtime, AkaiMS had DDosers and attempt to bing down the server that is just a fail. Imagine, CokeStory is hosting large amount of source which a dedi is exspected to hold.

    It was just the people what made people join akaims.

    Does that answer your problem. Cokestory stole my source and my database.

    Oh and Cokestory is probably very stable because the website currently says server online with 0 users. I can verifty this because when I login it says one online. Secondly, DDoS is not something easy to stop. People pay people millions of dollars to stop a DDoS attack. Remember that fact.

    I like to see CokeStory have 400 online.

    Rumours that AkaiMS had run off with some donations. AkaiMS did suck in my view because people hack when GMs are off. When I played I was hacking with my 3 friends, We did not get caught at all. It was 2 days long hacking and it got boring so we legit train. Then it just kills it because it was even more boring. AkaiMS sucks to be exact. Reason why AkaiMS had that many people online was the name of the server and the people. Just like 1 ant then millions come. I played cokestory and was not bored more than AkaiMS. They had modified many things in the server.

    To ‘Akiyowindz’ your just dumb end of. This is all real, I have phoned the department up and next day they sent me another C&D but kinda updated with the stamping. All my updates will be allocated via Email. They are kinda strict and we had a long 15-30 mins talk via phone. I guess they hate my server the most because of serveral reasons. To Mr ‘Korn’ (Nexon), If you have guts please sign the C&D and dont get your **** to send me other korean ones. I will very like to you on phone :P . Maybe your jelious? I know Maple-News.com has some connections to Mr ‘Korn’.
