Nexon takes down SydneyMS
Hey guys,
It’s Braha again, and I’m back with a sad story. After checking up to see how all the private servers were doing, it looked fine. Till I went to a very popular MapleStory private server called SydneyMS. This server will be missed by many GM’s on it and also many users who played it. Here’s what Admin Sexy said.

Nexon has started to send DMCA emails to people’s real emails and start threatening them with shit like so.
I’m not gonna risk something because according to a friend of mine we’re in for some shit.
So SydneyMS will be closing at the exact same time it opened: 10.25.53pm, AEDT. [v55 only, v62 down forever.]
Forums will be kept up I suppose – we don’t use Nexon images here :3.
Sorry guys. It’s not worth jeopadizing my career, schooling and life just for a game.

You can see by reading that, the email was sent from Lloyd. If you do not know who Lloyd is, hes Nexon’s Lawyer. (I bet you hes reading this right now). My note to Lloyd.
Dear Loyd,
Private Servers are illegal because they steal the graphics that the gaming company made, but Maple Story was not made by Nexon. Wizet truly owns Maple Story as they are the creators. Can you just let the private servers slide. There not causing harm, there more enjoyable and fun, because you get to be the GM. Instead of the character. You get to feel the emotion and happiness while playing on your own maple story private server. Servers might make money, but that’s the users choice. If someone donates to a server, that means they like it, and if the server is making ton’s of money from donations, try taking some notes before sending them the letter of death. If this upsets you, sorry, but I’m just speaking for myself. I have the right.
For all users out there reading this message, we will truly miss all great servers that users spent time coding. When you get a warning email from Loyd, we will call it “The Letter of Death”.
As you can see, I never played SydneyMS, but I’m getting pretty sick of Nexon taking all the fun away.

As you can see NEXON is taking every measure available to stop private servers.
This is just another opportunity to ask everyone who is currently running a server to shut it down. We cannot force you but I think it would be fair to respect the wishes of the developers of the original game as well as the private server software. Do not even wait until you get some warning letter, because instead the police could be knocking on your door, sooner than you think. Believe me, it just isn’t worth it.
As you may guess I’m speaking from my own experience.
Please remember that at least OdinMS, but I guess this is also true for developers of other software, never intended to do any harm to NEXON. OdinMS was not created to “bring NEXON down” or whatever slogans are used by some people today. We didn’t try to compete with NEXON, far from it.
We wouldn’t even have resisted if NEXON had just asked us to shut down. I think the way NEXON has been handling this whole matter so far isn’t the best one can think of, but obviously they can afford it. The chances that you can make them reconsider this are pretty nonexistant.
OdinMS is still trying to settle the legal matter out of court, I can just give you the advice to avoid that altogether.

I agree, we never intended harm on Nexon. I’ve coded multiple private servers and they were all for fun and they even helped me with my coding skills. Without private servers, I would of never been as good of a coder as I am today so I think what Nexon is doing is selfish. They don’t care about their players, all they care about is money. They think what they are doing is going to bring players back but they are dead wrong. Most players are never going back to Nexon for what they are doing. I wouldn’t even go back if I like the game, just because of how selfish they are being.
I hope Nexon reads this and changes their ways.
I could easily remove this post because it has some pro Private Server points in it from Braha, but I believe in free speech. The article has been tagged as an Editorial, so he’s free to express his opinion.
I do believe that the original developers of the game have the right to their work. As a musician, I would hate it if someone stole my music…but even the whole YouTube thing complicates that.
I know Matze and OdinMS, being the first Private Server that became popular, never meant to hurt NEXON, Wizet, MapleStory, or anything related to their business or game. But, considering it is illegal that’s by far the biggest motivation to not run a Private Server.
I play the official MapleGlobal version, but I have tried out Private Servers before and I will say there are some things that can be learned from them. You’re dealing with a lot of young kids, so of course it will be hard (near impossible) to get rid of them. Whether it’s because they want to be rebellious or dislike the official versions, Private Servers will always exist. NEXON will never be able to fully get rid of them…just like hacking someone will always do it.
Private Servers are illegal, and out of respect of the creators and your legal safety, it’s best to close them. We can’t tell you not to play one or not to make one, but eventually the creators will have to face the consequences.

omg! i cant believe nexon is doing this and yes i total do agree with Braha. And in my own opinion private severs give u the chance to do stuff in maple story that u can never do in gms and more.(unless u play 24/7) =P. I will miss sydneyms 4 it was the best server i ever say my frinds playing D=. But in the end like the song “all good things come to an end” ALL GOOD THINGS DO come to an END =3

to take it down… People who make/join private servers are mostly in it
for a way or getting rid of… well… it takes forever to lvl to 150-151 in gms
but in a private server you dont need to worry about all of that stuff…
so its a place to just chill and not try as hard as u do on gms… I for 1

From my perspective i have been playing GMS when orbis was still new till when pirates came out.
Dring those times i have been hacked twice and i dont see any GMs doing ANYTHING to prevent this from happening this is y people choose to play on private severs becuz the GMs in there are on daily and can help the players when they have any problems.
in GMS it takes forever to get to lvl 100 when you arent on 24/7 we have a life besides mapling compare to private sever we have rates that allow us to lvl faster, and when we spend that much time on lvling in GMS and then GET HACKED that just makes the fun go down the drain -,-

I’ve played Global since .32 and never got the chance to make a character to 100 so playing a private server showed me how fun it could be. Being hacked by friends for personal gain or hacked without even giving out my info… it ruins the desire and want to play. GM’s could easily take a little effort to help people out, respond to tickets instead of having a computer reply to each and every one, save a handful.
I think Nexon needs to hire some of these private server coders because in my opinion, they do a MUCH better job of coding than Nexon. All the patches that they do to fix their massive code errors is pointless. MSea did a 5 hour patch that took Nexon over a day and 2 patches.
I just hope Nexon quits being a money grubbing company, doing everything only for monetary gain. I remember when having Nx was a special thing, very few had it. Now everyone has 8 outfits, 12 pets, and enough smega’s to last a week.
I could rant more, but I think I’ve hit the highlights. Nexon was a good company, but they’ve fallen into a massive shamble. They would be wise to revert to their old ways. They would probably make more money by being a wonderful company like they were.

Never knew it would come to this I only been on private servers for a week and I got hooked on it. I think it would hit you more if you had played the REAL maplestory first then played the private servers. You can see lots of changes. Its more fun and less money/time consuming. No wonder people choose Private servers instead of GMS or KMS.

think about it. nexon is still a company. and if a company doesn’t want to earn revenue, who would be playing the developers and designers who spend so much time doing the graphics and background music of the game? you? you think you can do as good as them? if so, i don’t think you would be sitting in front of your computer typing all these comments here, rather you would be developing your own game.
lets say nexon lets private servers run loose. then sooner or later, everyone will turn into private servers. revenue lost. cannot pay developers wage. developers quit this company. company does not produce any further updates to the client. you all would be playing that version of 53 forever.
Call of Duty is another game by another company. are you assuming all the companies should have the same way of doing things? if that is your mindset, i think the economy wouldn’t flourish. who knows call of duty might have other games to backup their revenue. companies are different, please don’t drag other cases and compare.

Private servers arent like that, they just wanted u to donate if u like it or not , they arent like forcing u or anything. No-lifers who play the real maplestory actually do buy nx and makes other want to also. If gms was like private servers making everyone better im sure people dont even need to make private servers and many ppl will play it. Its SO hard to level in gms and it takes forever. Gms dont even go on and talk to the players and solve their problems they only make stupid events. Unlike private servers, they actually go on and answer the player’s question. I cant believe that they shutted SydneyMs down, i mean, thats a really fun server. took me only 1 day to get higher than 73, and i took 3 years to get to 73 in Gms. I would never play back Gms, but i will consider audition
People that stand up for nexon has no life! The fact that they have the right to shut down private servers doesn’t say that they are going very low! Taking fun away from a lot of people isn’t against the law, but it does let people hate you. If nexon has the right to do what they did, then we have the right to hate nexon too, right?
The only way to level up on GMS is to play 24/7 and the only thing you do is to gain level and save for new armor and then kill monsters forever again. You have to kill bilions of monsters to go from lvl 60-61. PQ’s should help you to lvl faster, but there’s only 1 party that can do the quest at the same time, so waiting till the party is out takes even more time.
And the NX cash system sucks balls! You waste money to buy equipments for just 90 days! After 90 days it will dissapear and your money is wasted.
People in Gms are so damn lifeless! They know no trainingspot is empty and they still keep spamming with cc please. And if you don’t cc, they will get upset and defame you. If you need help in the game, you can forget to get help from players, and GM.
Nexon, please read this and die to hell.

I wish Nexon wasn’t such a money hungry company and shutting private servers down but they don’t do it to gain back that little percentage of people. If they didn’t shut them down more people would consider making one. What if there were thousands or even hundreds of private servers? You have the persuasion of fast leveling, lots of money, basically free nx, and whatever else you can think of. Someone on GMS plays a private server and gets their friend to play. Then that friend gets friends to play. Nexon makes a lot of money, yes, but they are just afraid of losing so many of their players that they can’t afford to run MapleStory anymore. They don’t want to take the chance of making $0 from MS then making what they make now. They know private servers are a threat because they are better than them. Nicer people, WAY nicer and active staff, and more creative! Put yourself in their position. The main question is…

I was an ex Sydney-MS player and let me say that the creators and admins were really hip, funky, cool and creative. Any Sydney-MS player will know what I mean. Just to get into the webpage you had to READ the rules and regulations, and if you’re the standard skipper you just get owned by the website
The forums were good and their RB/Chicken system was excellent at distinguishing the committed and pros, and yet giving the newbs their share of fun in owning standard monsters.

Well LoL the thing is everyones lazy and likes to hack games to make them more fun. People like me who dont like games which are slow ass lvling like to play PS and experience the whole game and more. the GM in PS are actualy HELPFUL!!!!! they actually have a help line and answer u ASAP. Unlike the lazy ass gms game masters they just sit around banning people and leave the noobs to suffer. I presonaly like PS cuz they help people alot and just seems a lot more friendly. GMS on the other hand seems a lil antisocial. And most important more than anything NX is free u dont have to pay actual money to have cool cloths and every thing. Us normal people don’t got the $$$ to actually buy NX and plus we got other BETTER ways to spend it. Sydney has been back a short period underground. Also isuper, GM’s werent allowed to curse.. you should get your facts right. Believe me, i was one of them.
Well the truth is that they do cause harm even if you dont want to the money that they lose is pretty big is about 25,000 a month in donations to PS and not nexon. The reason that nexon is the one that sues and not wizet is because wizet maple developers still get their share but the money lost is out of nexons revenuse or nexon cash, so it dosn’t matter how much people ask they are getting themselves in a multi million threat each time they make a PS nexon can’t get them all that is true but the ones they get are facing about 10 to 25 years in jail or juvi and then jail for the minors if the can’t pay the settlement. My thought on all this is open your eyes everyone stop PS for some time and then come back about a year later with underground and dont do mistakes like xDutchGunn who just came out saying that Sydney was still underground that may get the people in trouble dont be a loud mouth like him no offense but it is true. also try making hacks like packet editing or other hacks meanwhile you plan the comeback for nexon take over hope you guys get an actual idea of what could happen if you own a PS an it’s consicuenses!!!
I think Nexon has lost it with this slough of shutting down private servers. It’s completely rediculous. I doubt even the original creators are very happy with what Nexon has done with their work. It’s just a way to make money now. You have to PAY if you want to be a high level, to get multiple times experience cards. I played Maple Story for a very very long time and I only ever got to level 70, after playing every day for hours and hours. When I can get to level 200 in one day with 500x experience (consider, this means that if you were to grind for however many hours, around 10 say, for every day for 2 year, you would be level 200). This is absolutely insane for a game that requires you to grind every level. I can no longer play Maple Story for more than a few minutes without getting bored. Private servers are a way for me to have a little fun playing Maple Story without wasting my time grinding away level after level. I think that if Nexon wants to spend their money and time shutting down every private server that pops up, they should focus more on making their game interesting and entertaining.
This is shizz! I played sydneyms for quite awhile, but I took a break. And I was planning on coming back today, but then I just found out the whole thing has been shut down! That’s not fair! A response to Borat, and those defending Nexon (I know you’re out there):
MapleStory is not a good game. Having to grind every level and having to cc training spots and spend tons of cash on NX cash is no fun. The GMs are never on and don’t really interact with the public when they are. When you have a question about your account and ask on the website 70% of the time they’ll send you a computer generated message. Personally after an hour of training I have to mute my speakers because the music is so annoying (same thing on PSs). However, the creative variations people put on to MS are interesting and can make the game far more fun, thusly the creation of a PS. It lets the player see how it feels to get to that nearly unreachable level 200 and go beyond from there. I used to play SydneyMS and it was great, but I quit a little while before it closed down. Your points, not to be insulting, aren’t very solid. People generally only constantly play the top 10 private servers, thats about 10-30 thousand people (depending on time of day). Nexon’s MS supposedly has 2 million+ people playing. That’s a 2% loss in their revenue, IF all those people even buy NX, which considering they play a FREE private server, probably don’t. I do agree that bringing Call of Duty into this fairly stupid, but who am I to say so. Also, considering that many people were willing to play a v55 private server so much as to make it number 12, shows how much these people really care for Nexon’s updates. Personally, I would be far happier playing a v55 server at level 200 with 20 rebirths than on v98 hopelessly killing golems and the such trying to get to level 71. I was quite sad when my friend told me that SydneyMS had shut down. I believe that private servers, like SydneyMS, are ways of gamers being able to know how it feels to be a “maple pro” and finally be done with MapleStory in general. Eventually I hope that we can be done with these mindless MMORPGs that never end and have no plot and play real games that truly immerse a gamer in a rich plot and don’t require soulless grinding, what gaming should really be, not “money faced” corporations hunting down people who just want to make people happy (or be rebellious, because they think coding is badass =3). Omg, Nexon is so selfish. They’re taking away the most-played private servers so they think that all the players will go back to GMS. News flash – GMS is so boring and it’s so hard to level. If you wanna get to level 100+ really quickly, you’d have to have no life and play all day long plus it won’t even be fun anymore. I have a level 63 in GMS and my sister has a level 139 , i think. But the point is, I always wanted to have 3rd job, but it wasn’t happening cause GMS is SO slow and boring. So I decided to play another server, first time I got to level 70+ I was SUPER happy. Private servers makes a kid happy, you know?
And even worse, I played SydneyMS, and see-ing it shut down, was really hard. SydneyMS was one of my favourite servers. Although there were a lot of people, it was super duper fun. infinity x better than GMS.
Nexon isnt thinking about the players or the fun. They’re thinking about the money and the popularity. They just can’t accept the fact that a private server is getting more players than they are.
Nexon is so selfish shutting Private Servers down. They already have money plus the popularity. How? The players who don’t leave to Private Servers YET and become addicted and buy loads of NX Cash. And Maplestory is already really popular. But soon, I hope Nexon sees that they’re being selfish and hopefully they will have a heart and change their mind.

Hey guys, just here to solve some unspoken-of things.
First Lloyd Korn was not a real lawyer for Nexon, in fact Lloyd Korn should be charged by Nexon for impersonation. The real lawyers started contacting private servers about two or three weeks later. Although the letter to SydneyMS from Nexon’s lawyer devision was not published online, SMS was contacted. So we could have stayed online for three more weeks… but its too bad.
Hope this helps some of you understand this event.

sucks that sydneyms went down. i played gms before i played private servers. i must say that gms completly blows. i hit i think level 21 or so and i was stuck. i have patience but when it comes down to gms, i lost it.
when i joined sydneyms, it was alot more fun than sitting around waiting for that 1 day you see your level go up once and you feel like you lost your virginity. in sydneyms, you dont need to struggle around till you achieve something. at first, you may struggle without the right skills or without help.
i understand that it is illegal for private servers to be active cause the actual game will be losing players. but then they need to think about why they are losing them. its because it takes so damn long to level up! but this sint so bad compared to WoW though. hit level 10 or so and you will be crying for help.
point is that private servers have true freedom in them. you can see how much damage you can do at whatever level with whatever skill etc. and you can enjoy the cash shop without having anything to pay for. and in gms, you probably do need the cash shop to get further. nexon is trying to dig into your coffer to get money for them. private servers are more friendly.
in conclusion, agree or disagree with me. its up to you. i stated as i feel and im sure some will agree and some will disagree. like i always say: dont trust the man smiling in a suit. they lie! *holds up a picture of someone who represents nexon in a suit smiling*
For some odd reason I feel that at the end of the world Nexon will be controlling everyone and ordering them to buy NX, and if you don’t you die. If I feel like that in a year or so again, I’m suiciding. Cause I don’t want to face the torture of what NEXON is bringing upon all of us. Nexon knows they suck. They know they need higher rates. They need to be more SydneyMS based.
WAIT A MINUTE! I’ve got an idea Sexy, maybe even a brilliant one. Try and reason with Nexon and talk them in to turning their server into SydneyMS just called GMS though. It would get them more money which would make them happier, and more people. But, they don’t need to have NX costing like $25, or more, keep it free like SydneyMS. Agree or Disagree, I think this is a great solution. Which would make most of us happy, and would make Nexon happy. But, if you still loathe Nexon with all your body, then don’t. But, give it a thought. It could be worth the risk. That is all.

I want to make a comment on why SydneyMs should be brung back. This is unfare for all people who have played the server especially for the guy who found a girlfriend on it. Take that as an example. Either way, if you take down SydneyMS we will always still like it. It had nx items for free, level quickly and wicked skills, rebirth, gms and etc etc etc. So Nexon and GMS think about it, i know its alot to give but just have a little faith in it. Think of how many players could come back to your server just because you gave it a chance and they would thankyou for everything you have gave them.

it’s true, but most of times companies like nexon don’t see players, they see potential customers, people that can make them rich by micro payments in exchange of pixelated fashion, things that private servers don’t do, they see players, not customers, and private servers for those companies steal those customers. a game should be made to make the people happy, not the company that hosts it. at this rate we’ll see nexon turn maplestory from “free to play” to “pay to play”. hope that doesn’t happen for the sake of all the loyal players who spent years of their life and hundreds of their money playing a game, otherwise nexon would fall like a card castle since maplestory is their money-maker, which is something that should happen in my opinion.

Nexon IS wizet. Nexon bought out wizet a couple years ago, so arguing that maplestory does not belong to wizet is an invalid, and uneducated response. Well i saw Bhahas add and read on, and decided id add my 2 cents. i played maplestory before official ms even came up. i played beta very wen it first started. till the end of it, got super pissed wen they shut beta down rather then making it official keeping our accounts intact. i started playing official for a while and then quit. only started agn wen i found a private server i liked. i also played Sydney ms and fell in love with it and was devastated wen they shut it down. i cant say that nexon doesnt have the right to do so because legally they do. but i mean they should see by now that a lot of maplestory players enjoy private servers much more than regular servers. y not make their own server, seperate from the official server, that has the same ethics as private servers? really high exp rates, exp rates, rebirthing, all of that… that way its owned by them, and whether people choose the official server or that server it wouldnt matter to them…. if i were them i would definitely see that as another way to make money (since they are such money minded bastards). just my opinion. i still say fuck nexon. and for the record, i didnt even touch gms after they shut sydneyms down.

Do you know all the effort the children and teenager GMs have to put in and commit to make a private server a success? Budget incomes or should i say pocketmoney, are all they got to cover. And Nexon should buzz off, their time has come. Private servers are an ALTERNATIVE. And if an alternative can upstage an ORIGINAL, it shows how apathetic Nexon is. Loads of $$$$ (gross earnings of $280m+ in Yr08/09) , and yet the GMs are more ineffective, and the server maintenance cannot be compared to amateur coders who are fans of the game (; A real joke.
When you are victim to hack or wrongdoings, try it for yourself whether its a privateserver or GMS GM that helps you or even better, a player who helps you? The privateserver does it. GMS is too cash based that people slowly become scrooges alongside the company’s movements. Their characters are imbued into the gameplay. Likewise for SydneyMS, only a great GM can imbue such gameplay. And thats what i meant. A great server, a great owner, a great community. All gone.

I just said that Nexon does have a right to get pissed, but NOT that I agree with what they’re doing to private servers. I really don’t want a flame war; and personally, if you actually interpreted what I meant, i actually agree with you.
Everyone here who has played Maplestory during the yrs 2005-2008 will know how many hackers there were, how inefficient the moderator helps was, and how corrupt the game was.
I am not a hater, and nor am I a supporter of Nexon. I’m just saying that even though Nexon shouldn’t crush private servers, they do have the rights in courts to sue them.

long live private servers, they ARE more fun than normal servers, they ARE an easy way to relieve and get a rest from normal maple. i mean private servers are just what they mean, they are PRIVATE, which means what happens on them is purely the choice of the people playing the private servers. if nexon is getting less money than private servers then boo hoo its not the private servers problem. it not as if the GMs if private servers force players to pay for their servers, nor is maple but if the private servers are making more money then it shows nexon has to look at what they are doing, for instance private servers have at least one active GM who yuo can see and interact with (i.e ask for help, advice etc.) where as maple has pretty much no GM’s. if nexon has a problem with the private servers then suck it up, sometimes people dont have the time to spend 3-4hours+ to lvl once.

Isn’t FarmerStory the new version of SydneyMS? Because it isn’t bad at all; its v75 that actually has a good ranking on private server rankings. So I don’t see why people are complaining about SydneyMS when is technically came back as FarmerStory

Although some of what you said is true, these Private Servers actually do harm our
Servers, it slows and sometimes crashes MapleStory Global, and also,
we do know for a fact that they are sometimes used to gather info about our Maplers
(e.x. Account Info, DoB etc.). Also you’re right about stealing our Graphics and making
your own copy of the regular Game and editing it which you aren’t supposed to
(CopyRight Protection). These are the reasons why it is illegal.
It’s also a major breach of our Terms of Use (ToU).
This is also why we are making 1 of our Goals-Shut down as many Private Servers as
we can. Yes, although some Private Servers are fun, they are illegal.
Also, if you really want to become a GM of Maple Global, you have to be familiar with
our Terms of Use, you have to be able to monitor people as they play and make sure
the game is going smooth, also you can’t just fool around all the time. Every once in a
while, you can take a break. Further more, if you want Instructions on how to become a

Nexon Look at this webiste there are over 8k comments here and every 3 is about Nexon doing the right thing look at all these people that have been playing private servers because you guys lie “MapleStory free MMORPG” yea right Free? no its not free having people pay money for Nx? its true that i’ve bought nx a ton of times but now i realize that it was a stupid thing to do since now instaed of spending my money on something else my money went to a you guys…..what a waste If People accually love GMS there would be more comment on how private servers fail and GMS rules but with my eeys i can only see how many people loved PRivate Servers i have not Played SydneyMs but i wish i had a Chance to play it nexon just think it over and please stop what your doing its not private servers faults that your failing its your own.

This is very late, but I’d like to quote you.

This comment is more wrong that you can possibly be. A private server
in NO WAY can POSSIBLY slow down GMS or crash GMS. And you can’t steal
account info. These reasons you have said are obserd lies.
I am a software engineer, and I’d like to inform you, when you create a
private server, you host it on your own computer, or using a VPN. This
is NO WAY interacts with the real server. Also, there is no way to find
a way into Nexon’s database for account info, or anything of the sort.
I would like to inform you, that you just made Nexon look very stupid
by what you said in that comment.
Dear Readers,
Maplestory is a strong and cool program and I Just Wanted Peace Between
Private Servers and Real Maplestory. Though Private Servers copy images and files,
they add in their own ideas to make them as far as Global Maplestory as possible.
I understand that it is illegal to copy Nexon.(I Think) I Right Now Play Private Server
but I sometimes go back on Global Maplestory. Both are Fun and yes I understand
Private Servers. Some Private Servers Are Unique like Farmerstory v83,KyraMS v83,
and Abide-Story v83 and Yes I would be devastated if those Private Servers Get Shut Down.

Man i miss SydneyMs. I actually made many friends there comparing to GMS there are too many kids and hackers and their isn’t any GMs on which sucks cause hackers will hack and nexon will TEMPERATELY BAN them and unband them zero tolerance to hacking my ass. They cannot manage their hackers or servers and yet they waste their time taking down private servers. A tip for them if your going to bother taking 1 private server down why don’t you take the other hundreds down if your at it. But no they just take down how many? 1,5,10? our of 500+?
Hey i haven’t played Sydney for a while but really Nexon??? If you guys are shutting down private servers, it would be better if it you made it into a good thing like donate to a charity or something but surprise surprise, you won’t so just go, just go and restore the private servers and leave them alone. If you won’t, make your games better. ALL people have the right to comment whatever they feel like. What you gonna do now Nexon? Control our comments? Seriously, it’s not the private server, it’s you. BTW you should really make that terms or use (or whatever it’s f***ing called) much shorter. Private server makers, the people, and I (No Name) have the right to do things. There is no invisible force stopping us. Private server makers MAY not make games, but they CAN make games. If people are reading this NO I’m not some random weirdo, okay! You are not gonna win this war. You keep shutting down, we keep making. There’s many reasons why people make private servers. Maybe they fun, maybe for friends and family, make they need money from donations, or maybe they practice making games for their career and so where that leads them. BTW stop making fag-like events. That’s why you guys have hackers. Your games are boring, hard to level, hard to play NOT FREE TO PLAY, NOT FRIENDLY (I don’t feel like getting kill steal) and other people can add on to this if they wish (or they may just tell me to stfu)”

I really did not want to post on this website, but when I saw all of these comments, it fumed me up.
Nexon is a company, and like any other, tries to be successful.
I personally enjoy playing MapleStory.
But, In fact, I have never been able to play on a private server, because every single time I download any private server, it comes up with error messages saying “cannot find DLL” or something like that.
After that, I have to re-install GMS.
I’m sorry, but I’m not siding with either one of you.
I have problems with private servers, and Nexon has no Customer Support whatsoever.
But Nexon’s games are fun, so I give them SOME credit.
That was my 2 cents added in.
This was just my opinion.

i think nexon’s a real big ass. trying to constantly take out the fun from people. its not even made by nexon, yet those nubs still sue the shit out of private servers who are barely earning more than them. in fact they only earn from DONATIONS unlike nexon who gets people addicted to maple and hypnotise them. when u go to the official maplestory website, doesnt it say ITS YOUR STORY? IF ITS UR STORY U CANT CHANGE IT? Get a life, nexon. just fk out of this.
