Level 200: Not Such A Big Deal Anymore

You remember the days when level 200 seemed like a myth. It was back when Tiger was still the number one mapler in MapleGlobal and when MapleSEA almost had it’s first level 200 player. MapleGlobal currently has 65 level 200 players that are on the rankings. MapleSEA’s rankings are currently down so we were not able to get any information regarding their rankings. MapleEurope has yet to have a level 200 player.
Level 200 raises the question, “What’s the point?” Now that MapleStory has a definite end, there really doesn’t seem like a reason to play for some users…but then again, what’s the point of life…you die in the end, so it’s pretty much the same idea. MapleStory is still played by millions of users, but the reason they play is up to them. Whether you’re level 200 or level 10, it doesn’t matter as long as you’re having fun.

The Maple News Network was created in July of 2007 by Savage and friends. MNN is comprised of the main site, Maple-News.com, which is the first and only MapleStory news website. Other sites such as MapleBlog and the MapleStory Fail Blog are also part of the network in addition to news and music radio stations.
Here at MNN we value unbiased news that can educate and interest the average mapler and gamer about their community and coming features. Maple News is known and respected by Nexon America and expects to expand to other Nexon games in coming months.
We strive to bring you the latest and most accurate MapleStory news and bringing together an intelligent and entertaining community.
Small, but very good article.
Congratulations.

GMS should eliminate some things that could help Maplers level up, if they want their Maplers to keep playing.

I would stop playing Maplestory if it got any harder to level.
(And I’m not angry at anyone (but Nexon), please excuse the name. Just trying to use the same name here as all the other posts here, peoples.)

Well I quit playing maplestory and went to private servers when I got to level 93 sniper on GMS. It was pretty hard to get there (took me about 3 years). Thats why I think private servers are great, if players really care about lvl 200 but dont care how they get there, then they can get there in a week and be done with it.

Problem with some small Private Servers is (like a friend’s of a friend’s server) is that the rates are at 200x or more, which is just too high, takes the fun and the wee bit of challenge out of the game. Shame though, it would be such a fun game at 10x or 15x Rates.

lots of ppl get bored before they cn get to 4th or 3rd job anyway. they’re gonna release a larger level maximum to amuse us further eventually.

With the release of cygnus knights, those hard earned level200 players will eventually be forced to start over, repeating the same journey, with some new stuff here and there, over and over again.
But hey, it’ll keep no-lifers busy, right?

@thorgal
I don’t consider them low-lives… more as…
role models to some and
…
advocates to others…

well i think they should add like 100 more levels and add a 5th class

Mages seem to be able to lvl quite fast after 4th job with their AOE skills.

i had a problem quitting maplesea after getting nowhere near lvl 100 even after playing on/off for about 15months, then i tried a private server and finally get to know what each job class’ skills are like and now, i dun even have the game in my pc anymore….cuz it’s like, so that’s all it does???
so if u find it hard to quit maple cuz u need to find out what each skill is like (like me before), then play on private servers. once u know, the interest dies just like that (snap)!!! GL!!!

too many hackers = too many scroll drops = drop in prices = too many goldly weapons = lvl too fast.
$ users became top of the list.

man, i knowing lv 200 the max, its like, so what, there’s nothing else to do.
they [Nexon] should make it to where there is no max until lv 999 and xp is 99.99%

Well, iCygNarutp, in GMS, you can reach lvl200 and still get 100% exp. Only probelm is that the exp bar resets when you log out =P
You know ,if Nexon has a lvl250 or higher cap, they we may get 10x exp cards, so that’s good news (since lvl200 requires 2.1billion exp)
