First Nexon now this, there’s a new hacker out there who has started a hacker team, this team ddos’s (a ddos attack is using a ip address and crashing it) private servers, not just any servers but popular servers. The team started this today, as i was searching on YouTube i found a video of a user recording himself crashing the server modern story. After finding this video I have been finding information on the team, if your interested in joining them, your just mean. Very Mean. Crashing servers? That’s not just illegal but it can get you in jail. With that said I hope you don’t want to join them anymore. The team has been planning a DDOS attack on MapleStory as said it takes about 10,000 users to ddos maple story just for it to lag. As it takes 20,000 DDOS attacks just to crash Google. So that’s about all the information I know right now, I hope to get more information on this soon. The video is below if you were interested in watching it.

The Knights of Cygnus is a class that is currently only available in Korean Maple Story. The class has a 1st-3rd jobs. You start as a Nobleese then at level 10 you can become an apprentice knight. You level up to level 30 then you sign up to become one of the Knights. Instead of the max level being 200 if you are a Knight of Cygnus your max level will be 120. There are five different types of Knights you can be.If you have a level 30 character, you can use it to sign up a character for the class. The Knights of Cygnus gain 6 AP at level up. The Knights of Cygnus have a unique beginner skill called “Blessing of the Sprite“, to rise it, the main character on your account must rise by 10 levels. The master level is 20 and it increases Weapon Attack, Magic Attack, Accuracy and Avoidability. By level 20, the stats on the skill are: Weapon Attack +20, Magic Attack +30, Accuracy + 20, Avoidability + 20

Soul Master: A swordsman with the light sprite. Turns the power of the sprite into a soul form, and imbues it within the sword to use it.

Flame Wizard Ley Couryet: A Magician with the Fire Sprite. Amplifies the power of the sprite with magic to wield it.

Wind Breaker: A bowman with the Wind Sprite. Loads the power of the sprite into the bow to shoot powerful arrows.

Night Walker: A thief with the Darkness Sprite. Not only is the power of the sprite used, but is capable of handling powerful poison.

Striker: A pirate with the Lighting Sprite Awakens the entire body with the power of the Sprite,and uses powerful bodily skills.

The Knights of Cygnus have been released to the public on December 18, 2008 in KMS. This is client version 1.2.67 for KMS. The more popular the class gets more people will start wondering when it will come out in other version of Maple Story. Will the same thing that happened with the Pirates happen with this? Will the forums be filled with questions and topics like this?

I’m a fan of the band My Chemical Romance. I was browsing their website one day when their drummer, Bob Bryar, posted a touching blog post about adopting his dogs: Dixie and Duke. Duke later passed away from cancer after rigorous chemo therapy and the owner drove and hour to meet him at the vet. He asked everyone to help out the “Magnificent Mutts Rescue” so that they could keep running by voting for them.

I’m asking that everyone please help Bob and Magnificent Mutts Rescue by voting for them. Whether or not you are a fan of the band, this is a good cause. They are currently in first place…but only 40 votes ahead. The shelter that wins will receive $10,000 so please help them out. December 24, 2008 marked one year since the infamous MapleStory Private Server, OdinMS was put online. OdinMS was one of the first MapleStory Private Servers and the only one to refuse to close and to receive a lawsuit for over $500,000 from NEXON Co. For the creators of OdinMS, you can sure say it’s been a hectic year.

Everyone has their own opinion regarding OdinMS and MapleStory Private Servers. If you look at the facts, OdinMS was using NEXON’s intellectual property for their own benefit and at the end basically running a business. You would think all the Cease and Desists would send a message saying, “This whole Private Server thing isn’t cool, we don’t like it and it’s illegal guys…don’t you get it?” We all know that a lot of maplers do not exactly like NEXON America in particular, but we should all keep in mind that the game is owned by them and without them, it would not exist. Yes, Wizet did create the game…but I’m not so sure they would enjoy others making money off the game and destroying boundaries that were not meant to be broken (i.e. 1 meso shops, 50000000x EXP, get to level 200 instantly).

Throughout hundreds of forums MapleStory players have voiced their opinions…but not always maturely or with the slightest thought put into it. By merely looking at a thread or two, you’ll see users calling NEXON “gay” or “retarded.” Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you can see why customer service representatives aren’t exactlty raring to go when they read a ticket that is basically full of “1337 speak” and insults. By constantly insulting a company and being rude to the staff I wouldn’t imagine they would be too eager to please people who frankly can’t appreciate a single thing. I have spoken to NEXON America myself, and I can sure tell you they aren’t the “blood sucking vampires” that you all think they are. The hatred the MapleStory community feels towards NEXON America is felt strongly, but it goes even beyond reason. From calls at 4 AM, stalkers, phone calls being taped with NEXON’s general counsel, to players trying to sneak into NEXON America’s California office, maplers have gone well passed the line of sanity. Some of the things people have done can only make you go, “What the fuck? They did WHAT?” It really makes you think, “What is wrong with people? All this over a freaking video game? Do they have a life?” Well sadly, you can’t make this shit up.

As we enter the new year, I hope that the MapleStory community acts a little more mature and voices their opinions intelligently. Whether or not you agree with what Private Servers stand for, or side with NEXON I suggest everyone look at the facts before they shout random insults at the company. Those comments reflecting badly on the community and make you look like a whiny childish mother fucker. I for one can say that I’m tired of reporting on such things and having to delete and edit out comments with vulgarity that just makes you want to slap the person silly.

We know children play the game, but that doesn’t give you an excuse to be rude and disrespectful…whether or not you agree with one side or the other. If you’re going to choose to hate something, hate something that is actually affecting our world: like world hunger, animal abuse, terrorism, etc. Some may view this post as pro-NEXON or whatever you would like to call it and then shout the very insults I have written about in this article, but I believe in giving both sides of the story…and frankly, I don’t think the MapleStory community has been very fair to NEXON. It’s time we all take a step back, use our brains, and grow up a little.

Savage here…just writing yet another pointless post in “The Vampire Cave.” I’ve been pretty bored lately. Nothing much to do…bored…you know. I lost my previous blog for various reasons, so I started a new one focusing on my Gunslinger in Demethos, WeAreBullets. The blog has failed, to be perfectly frank. I’ve thought about just using The Vampire Cave category as my source of updates for anything I want to do on Maple-News…but I wasn’t sure how people would feel about that.

Anyway, regardless of whether I do just keep updates here, here’s the big question in the title: Videos or Comics. I’ve done both for MapleStory, but fail pretty much equally. I like making videos, but they’re a lot of work and you can’t do anything amazingly creative unless you use Adobe Flash (which makes me want to shoot myself). I was thinking about trying the long-since dead idea of filming in game and having narration text at the bottom of the screen telling the story (like Pokgai’s legendary videos). Another issue is a YouTube channel…I’m not so sure how everyone would feel about me uploading videos to the MNN channel.

Comics, are fun…but annoying if its a GFX comic. I’d draw the stuff if my handwriting was anywhere near neat. It’s an option, but everyone knows Loliness and Iris pwn me in images so why bother?
