Today NEXON shut down another major MapleStory Private Server, FinalStory. The below statement was posted on their site (FinalStory.org):

This is not a hoax. FDC has been contacted by Nexon personally and have asked to shut down. As much as we love you, we’re not getting sued. We have e-mailed them and agreed to comply to their terms. We sincerely apologize.

    Thats too bad, that looked like a great private server with many players. I guess now that most of the source creators (Odin, Local, Flowsion, Titan) are out of the way, they can go after the top private servers.

    XplicitStory has also shut down 2 days ago…Since FinalStory and XplicitStory are very close, since Mateo developed XplicitStory earlier this year, Evidence could have been lead to FinalStory, since XplicitStory closed down.

    Theres A-Lot more than that…Nexon Has closed down Many private servers that we never heard of…GoldStarMS has been one, although their website still seems to be running, and LiveMS got shut down this summer.Nexon May not be cracking down on private servers fast, but their taking them down Hard!

    I was a FinalStory player, and it really did upset me to see it gone.

    They got this new lawyer recently to do their dirty work. I really hope OdinMS wins their case now -_-

    THERE will still be private servers. Even if RZ was closed. Even if XT100 was closed too. There will be and still be servers around. Now that Matze made it, there will be no end. Not unless the people will be tired of the “OMG ARE WE SUED?” thing.

    I too was a long time member of FinalStory, and I am deeply sorry to see such a tight community get shut down so coldly. I’m still wondering whether I should even attempt going back to MapleGlobal, it will just seem so slow…
