The Maple News Network was created in July of 2007 by Savage and friends. MNN is comprised of the main site, Maple-News.com, which is the first and only MapleStory news website. Other sites such as MapleBlog and the MapleStory Fail Blog are also part of the network in addition to news and music radio stations.
Here at MNN we value unbiased news that can educate and interest the average mapler and gamer about their community and coming features. Maple News is known and respected by Nexon America and expects to expand to other Nexon games in coming months.
We strive to bring you the latest and most accurate MapleStory news and bringing together an intelligent and entertaining community.
MapleGeek Closed Down
Another Private Server closed down at the hands of NEXON last week. This time it was MapleGeek, a popular and very professional looking MapleStory Private Server hit over 6,000 registrations in it’s first month alone. The MapleGeek staff didn’t provide an exact reason other than “We’re shutting our doors” to the public. But, it can be guessed that they shut down because of threats or fear of being sued by NEXON.
Many have been arguing that NEXON will never shut down Private Servers, but it doesn’t stop them from going after ones that have had huge success. Since the announcement of the OdinMS lawsuit, numerous well known Private Servers have shut down like LocalMS and CakeStory. Private Server owners are trying a number of different attempts to keep NEXON away. Terms of Service have been created that would enable NEXON to agree to something by moving onto their website…and others have just tried hiding their site. It seems futile and just an attempt to prolong the inevitable. Many maplers agree that only the outcome of the OdinMS lawsuit will determine the future of the thousands of other Private Servers out there.

Hi, MapleGeek wasn’t shut down due to NEXON. They shutdown due to Locolijo being a complete fucking idiot, and the horrible reputation they had. Locolijo apparently bought a Fish Bowl with his donation money and NX cash. They only had 50 people online, and Locolijo is a greedy saggot, and just decided to run away with the donations

MapleClassic has been closed by Nexon. That stupid company, think they can destroy ALL servers? But why, before, gamecheetah and cheatengine are releasing Hacks for MapleGlobal 2 days after the patch? Why they won’t sue GC and CE first?

you can only get sued if youre makiing profit from stealing nexon maplestory game by making players PAY for items ingame but thats why private server only ask for DONATIONS, soo pretty much nexon can’t do sh*t, to prove this look at ragnarok p servers.

Hello people here, I was devastated when I heard of this news. I was once an ex-member of MapleGeek, not staff, but I was active on forums if you knew me. I am looking for a server to play, I soon found ArberMS, but unfortunately it closed down.
*SIDE NOTE TO NEXON*
Please Nexon, we just want an easier version of MapleStory, I mean, I like MapleStory, but its too hard to level, and there’s people that bug me too. So Nexon, just please leave these ‘Private Servers’ alone.
