The Maple News Network was created in July of 2007 by Savage and friends. MNN is comprised of the main site, Maple-News.com, which is the first and only MapleStory news website. Other sites such as MapleBlog and the MapleStory Fail Blog are also part of the network in addition to news and music radio stations.
Here at MNN we value unbiased news that can educate and interest the average mapler and gamer about their community and coming features. Maple News is known and respected by Nexon America and expects to expand to other Nexon games in coming months.

Can fame hackers frame legits?
Well. There’s been a story going around about how the fame hackers assuming to get 30k fame in no time at all can go onto a player who is AFK and mass fame them to 30k, that then makes everyone think the innocent guy who just got a bunch of fame is a hacker and he will get banned. There’s many sides to this story but from what I know, going afk at this moment is very risky because of the packet editing situation. If you are discovered with lots of fame the Nexon GMs may not believe your story even if your 100% legit and they will ban you.
So this is a warning. Don’t go AFK in the middle of nowhere. Otherwise you could be mass famed, then banned, whether you are legit or not

Packet Editing Outbreak for MapleGlobal Fame Rankings
In the late hours of Thursday night, some users may have noticed that there have been some 40+ pages full of users with 30,000 fame and all ranked number 1. There has been a leak of packet editing programs to the public and many users have used it to increase their fame. What is “Packet Editing?” Basically it’s a program that allows you to send information from your computer to a certain page or system, in this case: to Nexon.
This outbreak is disturbing because it is the first major successful event that has occurred in which hundreds of users have had access to a program that has been able to infiltrate Nexon’s system and change the rankings. If anything it proves Nexon’s security is not what it used to be, or at least it appears that way. No longer is hacking restricted to in-game, but also to information on the MapleGlobal website.
Users are advised to be wary of any suspicious files and to scrutinize what files they receive from online friends. One thing for sure is that the users who have used a packet editing program to change their fame rank have made a big mistake: Nexon can easily pick out who and who did not use the program making it easy picking for banning. We can only wait and see if and what action Nexon America will take.

FangBlade About To Hit 200
FangBlade, currently ranked number one on MapleGlobal ranks, is one long level away from the final level in MapleStory: Level 200. He will be the first ever MapleGlobal player to hit 200 in the history of the game. Although some people are rooting for Novinha and Korwyn, they don’t seem to have a chance to catch up to FangBlade, let alone get to 200 before him.
In other versions it’s said that at level 200 you get “NPC” status and a special monster to tame only available to those reached level 200. Will Nexon throw in something extra to distinguish GMS from the other versions? It seems very unlikely that they will even acknowledge him seeing as they rarely acknowledge any players unless they’ve committed a Terms of Service violation. It will be quite interesting to see how this develops and we’ll continue to bring you any updates as they occur.
