This is, once again… a very serious issue that has come to my attention.

Warriors, particularly fighters, crusaders and heroes are being neglected throughout the world of Maple. The culprit: a mischievous little round bottomed bottomed flask containing a red liquid known as “warrior elixirs”. What makes this bottle so sinister? The answer is simple, it deprives our beloved Warriors with the feelings of self fulfillment they receive whenever someone takes the time while training on the map, to swim up (or run up) to them asking for Rage.

Why is this such an issue? Imagine going through your Maple life, being nothing more then a killing machine (archers and pages have come to know and appreciate this feeling). It all starts when you leave Maple island on your endavours to get your first job. Your friends and loved ones are all around you cheering you on as you decide to become a warrior.

You then go onto train for the next few levels until you’re faced with a very important decision: Should I become a page, a fighter or a spearman? For those who chose to become a page or a spearman, their story ends here. For those who chose the final option to become a fighter, their story continues.

Next thing these new fighters know, is that they have 1 skill point for something. What oh what will they use it for? “Hey, I have a skill that allows me to hit monsters for more damage, let’s see what happens if I use it”. And so it begins…

From this day forward, their fate has been placed before them, every time they must look for parties or people to train with, that question always appears. “Hey man do you have rage?” For some this is a blessing, for others this is a curse. But what they can’t deny is that in a tight spot, their rage may have given them opportunities that others didn’t have. Like say getting cherished spot in a PQ because you have a party skill of some sort.

Of course those who have been playing Mapelstory for a long time now can come to appreciate those cute fighters that would stand in town advertising their max rage for a small fee. Although it seems like a small charge, overtime it can be quite profitable. Eventually fighters would come to either love or hate being asked to rage. But that is no longer the issue…

In mid 2007 Nexon introduces Warrior Elixers to New Leaf City’s potion’s shop which changed history and left our beloved fighters without a job. After all who would bother wanting to pay a fighter a few thousand k for rage or to train with a fighter for his rage when they can take a portable rage with them? Through the advent of the Warrior Elixer, Nexon has caused thousands of fighters to become unemployed. Some even going so far as to go enter a state of denial about their fighter-dom by removing the hotkeys for rage on their settings, perhaps ashamed of the mild defect their rage had to offer in lieu of the seemingly perfect warrior elixer.

I ask you Nexon: Is it a crime to feel wanted for your party skill?

I was a selfish ranger, training above bottom at gobis with my parties and training all day and night with my warrior elixers. Usually I would lead the parties and I would just randomly invite whomever popped into my channel. Until one day I had a discussion with my party about 4th job and archer’s sharp eyes and how it would make Rage obsolete, not that fighters would notice much anyways. This is when I heard a small voice quip up at the top of the map saying “But I like to rage people”. So I swam up and took a look at who was killing at the top of my map, to my surprise it was a crusader tirelessly fighting monsters. Before I knew it he began a long and sad story about how much he liked raging people but because of the Warrior Elixir even he forgot that he was a Crusader at times and began carrying potions instead of Raging himself.

So this is where I begin my protest:

BOYCOTT WARRIOR ELIXIRS IF THERE IS A FIGHTER/CRUSADER/HERO IN YOUR PARTY!!!! Go up to them and remind them of who they once were, ASK FOR RAGE!

This is a very controversial issue brought up and has already raised much discussion. Although it has been argued why not just get rid of HP pots then since that eliminates a clerics purpose. These new warrior elixirs clearly affect the fighter classes, but will it be enough to have Nexon change or get rid of Warrior Elixirs?

Although I’m not old enough nor informed nearly well enough to speak about politics that intellectually, I’m willing to give it a try.

The political candidates for the 2008 U.S. Presidential elections seem to be looking good. We have the chance to elect the first woman or the first black president of the United States. It seems that when it comes to the republicans and the democrats, the democratic party definitely is the focus of the 2008 elections.

There have been debates of which presidential candidate should win. There has been talk of change and experience between the democratic candidates as well as the republican side. With the mess President Bush has made, whoever the new president may be…he or she has their work cut out for them.

Despite my age of 15 years I’ll try to be looking into this election in the months to come. I hope our other writers and even editors will partake in this discussion. It definitely is going to be interesting.

As you may have seen, another slot in the top 5 was taken to a Beran! This is remarkable, as Scania is falling behind the pack of servers. What’s next? I think Broa, with LoOpEdd and Korwyn with 6th and 7th, perhaps Khaini with Salleem and Ooll7021oO with 13th and 14th. This is an exciting breakthrough for all Maple Globalers as the first gMS server reclaims it’s once found glory.

There are also other reasons why I think Scania may be falling. If you aren’t a high level in Scania/Bera/ any other packed world you probably wouldn’t understand, but big bosses like Papulatus/Pianus are always getting KS’ed in Scania. And now you have to “unoffically” schedule times to kill Zakum, otherwise Scania will be hunting you down. Their community is now just level up fast hungry, and it’s getting them behind the pack. Truly I appreciate Nexon releasing the world changes, giving a few decent players a break. But I guess this may only be the beginning of the fall of Scania.

Yes! Finally! Many MapleGlobal maplers have been waiting for this amazing update! 4th job as well as other cool updates such as a new user interface have been added! While everyone was freaking out Nexon was really working hard!

Nexon also announced that there would be compensations for what happened on January 16 with MapleStory being down for several hours.

Following the technical difficulties that resulted in the servers being down for 3 hours and 20 minutes back in January 16th, we have decided to compensate the users that have been affected by it.

Below are the items that will be compensated for AFFECTED PLAYERS:

- Extend expiration date for 2x EXP Cards, 2x Drop Cards, Store Permits, and Hired Merchant items

- If any of these items were expired during the downtime, we will give Maple Points on the next server check.

These changes have been applied following the patch.
